About Us

A village pub in the truest sense The Talbot Inn is owned by a neighbouring family and managed by Polly and Mark, who also live upstairs.

Polly, originally a professional singer, was head butler at Farleigh Wallop House & polished her publican skills at the award winning Beckford group before taking on The Talbot Inn. Mark, a cabinet maker, brings the same care and creativity to the feel of the pub. Together they’ve created something relaxed, characterful and quietly distinctive.

In the kitchen, Wes Bament cooks with a classical foundation and a light touch, drawing on a broad range of influences while keeping the focus on seasonal, well-sourced ingredients.

Visiting The Talbot feels homely, eclectic and a little unexpected — our menus have a sense of adventure, cocktails are bracing, and on any given evening you might encounter anything from a blues night to a Bach recital.
